A few days ago the UK’s leading airliner, British Airways, organised a fantastic event. It took place in one of the BA hangars of Heathrow International Airport, where many aviation enthusiasts and business partners could come together with their families and friends to discover the latest products being introduced into service. Among the aircraft were double-decker Airbus’s A380, the most technologically advanced passenger aircraft in the Airbus family A350, its rival the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the “Queen of the Skies” – the Boeing 747. However, the real surprise was the legendary Concord – the half plane, half spacecraft that carried people at supersonic speeds and high enough altitudes that the curvature of the earth below could be seen through the window. The guests could also enjoy the pilots’ view from the flight decks, try their seats as well as ask them questions about the aircraft controls and individual nuances. In other words the event impressed and inspired all those in love with the skies.
